Sitecore Content Management System Dramatically Improves Web Publishing Process
Fairfax, VA—April 15, 2008—The Boy Scouts of America and mindSHIFT Technologies, a leader in technology services, today announced the launch of the newly redesigned www.scouting.org website. The new website, featuring a publishing system from mindSHIFT, eliminates bottlenecks and allows staff at headquarters, as well as Council leaders around the world, to more easily create, publish and update information about their activities.

mindSHIFT Technologies, a leading provider of managed IT and e-business application development services, built the scouting.org web publishing system on the Microsoft .NET foundation, using Sitecore as the content management system software. The Boy Scouts chose Sitecore for its ability to support thousands of web properties. End users now have a streamlined system for content updates and an online workflow process for approvals. The end result—the Boy Scouts have a scalable platform for all their content management needs in the foreseeable future.
The back-end system developed by mindSHIFT is integrated with Cumulus, a digital asset management tool used by BSA to manage its catalog of photos, videos, PDF files, and thousands of other pieces of content that can be used on the web. mindSHIFT developers customized the Sitecore user interface to enable content managers to access and utilize assets on web pages seamlessly, without leaving the Sitecore environment.
