With more than 25 years of information technology experience, Laurie Carey has excelled in various roles, including president of IT Systems and Consulting, a Long Island based Systems Integrator, at Novell Inc., New York State Unified Court Systems, and at the Northeastern Board of Cooperative Education Services. Her experience includes designing and implementing large-enterprise identity-management and business-process management solutions.
Recognized for her work, Laurie is the recipient of global recognition from Novell for Certified Engineer of the Year. In November of 2001, Laurie was recognized by Network Users International for her help during the September 11th tragedy, where she organized a team of volunteer resources to go into Ground Zero and remove equipment from the condemned buildings in the downtown area. Further, she was selected as one of the Top Twenty Techies award given by LISTnet in 2006.
She has served as a board member of a number of technology forums including Network Users International; founder of the Capital District Network Users Group, and past president of Long Island Network and Computer Users. She also recently established the LISTnet Special Interest Group Microsoft Technologies in Government, and she is currently President of the Executive Board for Women@Microsoft NY/NJ/LI Chapter.
