Selected Law Firm Experiences with Professional Services

mindSHIFT Helps Multi-office Law Firm Undergo Comprehensive Technology Renovation

For a 17-office, 900-user law firm, mindSHIFT Legal Professional Services provided a comprehensive technology services renovation including migration of Novell-based servers and email to Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange along with the deployment of Windows XP workstation

The project, lasting approximately 8 months, comprehensively re-engineered the technology infrastructure with minimal disruption to business operations while preserving and migrating user data. In addition, the firm was able to improve user service quality and simplify desktop management via our implementation of Microsoft's System Management Server. mindSHIFT also provided detailed knowledge transfer sessions to assist the firm's technology staff in adapting to the new system.

The firm continues to rely on mindSHIFT for ongoing system support services.


Smaller Law Firm Gets Big Firm Functionality and Service Quality

With mindSHIFT's Legal Professional Services, a 50-user law firm was able to deliver the same technology, functionality and service quality of a 500-person firm, while keeping within the confines of a 50-user firm budget. mindSHIFT designed a comprehensive document management system to allow the firm to securely collaborate on matter-centric work product and email. The system was integrated with the existing accounting system and Active Directory services to provide centralized administration and management. Over 50,000 documents were migrated to the new environment over the course of two weeks.

In addition to the document management system, the firm's comprehensive technology services renovation included a secure, centrally managed desktop environment, a VoIP-enabled Cisco infrastructure design, and a remote access solution utilizing Terminal Services and Citrix software -- while meeting their strict budgetary requirements.

Today, the firm maintains this world-class environment with one full-time administrator, one part-time Help Desk specialist, and the 24x7 assistance of mindSHIFT managed IT services.
