Patrick Hendy
Patrick Hendy

Patrick Hendy joined Columbia Capital in 2002 and focuses on communication services and media investments. Mr. Hendy is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Mobi PCS and Ruckus Network and is actively involved with Columbia's portfolio of communication services provider,s including Hoak Media, Presidio, The Tennis Channel and SiTV. He has also worked closely with a number of former Columbia portfolio companies including WCS Wireless (acquired by Nextwave Wireless) and XM Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: XMSR).

Prior to joining Columbia Capital, Mr. Hendy served as a senior analyst in the Global Telecommunications and Media Investment Banking Group of J.P. Morgan in New York, structuring public and private equity and debt financings as well as merger and acquisition transactions. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he served as a financial analyst in the Debt Capital Markets Group of Wachovia Securities. Mr. Hendy received his B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University.

John Siegel

John Siegel joined Columbia Capital in 2000 and focuses on communication services investments. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of mindSHIFT Technologies, FDN Communications, ICG Communications, Integrated Solutions, and Netifice Communications. He is also actively involved in Mpower, New Global Telecom, Mobile Satellite Ventures, and MetroPCS Communications.

Prior to joining Columbia Capital, Mr. Siegel was a member of Morgan Stanley's Private Equity Group, where he specialized in investments in the telecommunications/data services arena. He has held positions with Fidelity Ventures, the private equity division of Fidelity Investments, and the Investment Banking Division of Alex. Brown & Sons, Incorporated. Mr. Siegel received his B.A. from Princeton University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

 



Rob Ketterson

Rob Ketterson focuses on investment opportunities in information technology, software and tech-enabled services. He currently serves on the boards of mindSHIFT Technologies, Asset Control and MegaPath Networks.

Prior to being a founding partner of Volition Capital in 2010, Mr. Ketterson was Managing Partner at Fidelity Ventures, joining in 1993. While at Fidelity Ventures, he headed the US and Europe investment teams. Mr. Ketterson has led a number of investments including Geotel (subsequently acquired by Cisco), Nuance Communications, InterNAP, Webspective Software (acquired by Inktomi), Nexabit Networks (acquired by Lucent), WaveSmith (acquired by Ciena), Connected Corp (acquired by Iron Mountain) and Intellon (subsequently acquired by Atheros). Prior to Fidelity, he worked as a manager in the high technology practice of The Boston Consulting Group. Prior to that, he was a product manager for PC products at VLSI Technology, Inc. He currently serves on the Board of the New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) for Volition Capital and formerly represented Fidelity Ventures on the Board of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA).

Mr. Ketterson received an undergraduate degree in computer engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

 



Larry Cheng

As a Managing Partner of Volition Capital, Larry Cheng focuses on investment opportunities in the Internet, software, and information services.  He currently serves on the boards of mindSHIFT Technologies, Cortera, MFG.com, Prosper Marketplace and Stylesight.  Mr. Cheng also represents Volition Capital on Flock and The Receivables Exchange. 

Prior to co-founding Volition Capital, Mr. Cheng was a Partner at Fidelity Ventures, where he led Fidelity's Investment in Verid, which was acquired by EMC. Prior to joining Fidelity Ventures, Mr. Cheng was a Senior Associate at Battery Ventures, where he was an early investor in Ruckus Network, OpenNetwork Technologies (acquired by BMC Software) and Ximian (acquired by Novell). From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Cheng was an Associate for Bessemer Venture Partners where he focused on software investments. Prior to Bessemer, he was an associate consultant at Corporate Decisions Inc. 

Mr. Cheng earned a B.A. in Psychology from Harvard College.



Jim Pastoriza

Before joining TDF early in 2004, Mr. Pastoriza was a Partner of J.P. Morgan Communications Partners, L.P. in San Francisco, CA. He was previously a Partner at AT&T Ventures, leading Fund investments in Internet Security Systems (ISSX), and WNP Communications (sold to Nextlink). Prior to AT&T Ventures, Mr. Pastoriza held operational positions at AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He also served as the Executive Assistant to AT&T's Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development. Mr. Pastoriza received a B.S. from Columbia University and earned his M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.





Paul W. Chisholm

Paul Chisholm was most recently President and CEO of COLT Telecom Group plc headquartered in London, England. Under Mr. Chisholm’s leadership, the company became the largest and most successful European alternative carrier, renowned for its ability to provide voice, data, video and Internet services to Europe’s largest business customers. Mr. Chisholm grew the company from inception to over $1 billion in revenue, with operations in 29 cities in 10 countries.

As vice president and general manager of Teleport Communications Boston, he led the startup to become the largest competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) in Boston and the first to be profitable.

Prior to Teleport, Mr. Chisholm held various technology, sales and management positions at New England Telephone, AT&T, and Shawmut Bank.

He is on the Board of Directors of Sycamore Networks, MegaPath Inc., mindSHIFT Technologies and Cathedral High School in Boston. He is also an Executive Committee member of the Boston College Technology Council.

 



Lawrence M. Ingeneri

Larry Ingeneri was the CFO of COLT Telecom Group plc from 1996 until 2002 and was instrumental in the company’s ability to execute its business strategy. He helped the company raise $6B in debt and equity financing to fund its aggressive expansion.

Mr. Ingeneri joined COLT prior to the IPO and managed the company’s successful public offering on both the London Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. Prior to COLT, he worked at Salomon Brothers Inc as an investment banker.
