Customer Engineer/Network Engineer

Location(s): Fairfax, VA - Waltham, MA

Description:

The Network Engineer will implement technology as part of the regional Customer Engineering team.  This position is a multi-faceted and dynamic opportunity for a hands-on technical engineer that is looking to be involved in all aspects of technology. The position involves resource and time management for projects, system analysis, system consultation and design for new clients, and third tier support for junior staff. The individual should be a detail and process oriented person, as well as possess solid problem solving skills.  In addition, the Network Engineer must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to keep our clients, management, and other Customer Engineers informed.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing modern networks including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Designing, implementing, and trouble-shooting multi-site Active Directory environments
  • Designing, implementing, and trouble-shooting Microsoft Exchange environments

Preferably, this individual should also have some of the following experiences in technology:

  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco/Juniper switches and routers
  • Hands on experience with Citrix implementations and support
  • Hands on experience with VMware design, implementation, and support
  • Data center implementation and management

Required:

  1. Minimum of 3-5 years related hands-on work experience
  2. Work experience must include supporting local area network connected devices or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Willingness to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or closely related field
  5. MCSE, CCA and/or CCNA Preferred
  6. Proficient with MS Office and MS Project
