The 14th Annual LI/NYC Emergency Management Conference will be held May 30 -31st at the Long Island Hilton in Melville, New York. This year’s theme focuses on working relationships in the preparedness community over the past few years.

Event background:
Companies such as KeySpan, LIPA, the New York State Emergency Management Office, and the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene will be presenting on topics such as: pandemics, school safety, the Office of Emergency Management's role in weather related situations, and corporate readiness.
Last year's 13th Emergency Management Conference examined one of the ultimate natural disasters – a hurricane. The conference examined the effects of 2005's major North American natural disaster, Katrina, which hit not once, not twice but three times in the course of several weeks along the Gulf Coast. The 2006 conference analyzed the missteps and lessons learned, along with proven strategies for planning ahead, responding to and managing a natural disaster in the New York area.
