Three mindSHIFT Employees to Present in Executive and Technical Tracks

Hands-on instruction on the design and implementation of a complete legal desktop, plus a tutorial on effective leadership in a law firm, are the topics of two presentations by three mindSHIFT employees at ILTA’s 30th Annual Educational Conference August 20-23, 2007 at Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando, FL.
At ILTA University (ILTAU), attendees will be able to construct a customized, hardware-independent law firm desktop, encompassing the latest operating system updates with legal applications. The presenters, J Abernethy and Jose Macaranas from mindSHIFT’s Professional Services, will bring participants through the design and implementation of a complete Windows XP desktop utilizing Microsoft tools and technologies, including
- Remote Installation Services
- Active Directory software distribution
- Group policy object management
The ILTAU session, called “Building a Windows XP Desktop Using Microsoft Tools and Technologies”, starts on Wednesday, August 22 at 9am and ends at noon.
In the Executive track, mindSHIFT’s Silas McCullough and Johnson & Johnson’s Deena Coffman will detail the characteristics of great “Level 5” leaders, applying the concept to law firms specifically. Level 5 leadership is defined by Jim Collins, the author and business consultant, as greatness through a paradoxical blend of personal humility and professional will.
“Level 5 leadership is foremost about the cause, the company, the work—not individuals themselves,” said McCullough. “Great leaders combine humility with equal parts of will and ambition, and their actions are consistent with those characteristics.”
The Executive session, entitled “Level 5 Leadership,” will take place Thursday, August 23 at 2pm.
